Welcome to yego.blog, my personal blog of stories and essays. I hope you find the essays thought-provoking and the stories enjoyable.
These are writings about memory, travel, love, philosophy, and time. Above all, they are essays about what time cannot persuade the heart to relinquish.
The name yego comes from Yegorushka, the little boy in Chekhov’s The Steppe. The suffix -rushka is a Russian diminutive, while Yegor is the Russian form of George. Since I’m no longer little, and not exactly a Yegor, I dropped both the -rushka and the r, and kept yego.
A compromise, I suppose.
Sigh!
